The Sun, a leading tabloid in Britain, published this article on page 13 of their January 15, 2002 edition. The article read:
Jennifer Anis-tan
Friends star Jennifer Aniston reveals how she looks sun-sational – her tan is SPRAYED on.
Jennifer, 32, was spotted at a clinic in Los Angeles where a 60-second “misting” costs £20. So Jen’s secret is out – bet she’s browned off!
The by-line at the bottom of the page, under a picture of the clinic, reads:
Tan-fastic . . salon does “mist on tan” in 60 secs.
The “clinic” is actually a traditional tanning salon with a Mist-On Tan unit. The salon, located in West Hollywood, is Total Tan. The salon, and Dr. Laughlin’s Mist-On Tan, is reported to be used frequently by celebrities. Presumably, the tight lip kept by the salon owners and employees about the identity of their clientele assures the repeat business of these celebrities.
