The FDA recently stated that they recognize DHA
as a safe and effective skin colorant, but would like
to see data regarding its safety with respect to inhalation, ingestion and eye exposure. They also asked that consumers concerned about these issues be provided a means for preventing inhalation, ingestion and eye exposure of the misted tanning solution. Here is how Mist-On Systems has addressed these issues raised by the FDA

Indoor Tanning's New Roommate
"Salon Owners are Hot on UV-Free"
Here's a great article from the April 2003 issue of Tanning Trends. The article, by Karen Austin, describes the salon owner's view of how this new technology fits in their salon. One sample quote by a CO salon owner: "We really believe this is going to be the new generation of tanning. It's a wonderful concept." And according to Karen,"UV-free tanning continues to move into the industry's mainstream."

Bob Lee's Safe Tan Gets Sued

Bob Lee offers automated sunless tanning at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, New Hampshire. He has two Sunless Express Spray Spas in a specially-designed in-line store. Unfortunately, it appears that he was mis-informed about his personal liability associated with operating alleged patent-infringing equipment. A patent infringement suit was filed this week in New Hampshire Federal Court by Laughlin Products, Inc., against Bob Lee (Portsmouth, New Hampshire) and his operating company, Safe Tan, Inc.
