Lets
remember why we add different equipment to our salons. To
raise the level of excitement for the use of our salon. remember
that there millions of dollars spent on self tanning lotions
at department stores and makeup counters, and tanning salons
are not seeing any of that revenue. When you ad a spray booth
to your salon you are giving yourself an opportunity to broaden
your client base and possibly expose new clients to your exesting
equipment. This is the same question that was asked about
high pressure equipment just a few years ago, and look at
how important they have become to our industry. I help lots
of people get started in the tanning business, and I always
tell my clients that to be most successful you should be a
leader not a follower. Followers are always bahind. Spray
booths are here to stay and that is a good thing. It just
creates one more service that you can offer. Yes they are
expensive and the prices will probably will come down in time
but by that time if you don't have one you will have missed
the boat. I have already started placeing them with my clients
as well as high pressure equipment and every other new technology
that becomes available, and this combined with my marketing
programs insures the success of the business. Don't resist
innovative ideas that can most certainly increase profits

Aztec
Tan
Houston, TX |
I
own Aztec Tan in Houston Texas, I have been in business for
10 years. I bought a MIST-ON-TAN booth in April of 2000. It
is by far the best investment in ten years I have ever done
in the tanning industry. I did $10,000 the first 10 days I
had it!! So far there are only 2 units in the Houston Metro
area, and I am getting people driving in from every part of
Houston to use it. I am averaging $25 per person who uses
it, and tanning 15 to 20 people per day. This is definitely
the tan for the new MILLENNIUM!!!! I bought my unit from Dr.
Laughlin out of Dallas, who is the inventor and patent holder
of this spray-on technology. My machine is NOT a profit share,
I DO NOT share my profits with anyone!!!!

Guys,
come to Dallas. Where it started. Do some honest research.
The units now, are going for $50k (rounded number) after the
promo that they did on "Extra". The projected incomes are
even higher than you would expect. If you would like I can
show you how it is done. We are adding it (one unit) to our
salon, just from the interest alone, we are very excited.
More importantly, the two major chain salons here in Dallas/Ft.
Worth can testify to their overwhelming success. I personally
have seen it grossing over $1,000 a day at the busiest locations.
(20+ tanning units, 1-2 "Mist-On" or "Mystic Tan" units).
Of course with any product, or bed, it is all about the marketing
that you can do. For something like this, when you bring it
into an area that has never seen it before, you should be
able to get it on the news, and promote the U.V. free affects,
and benefits. Units like these draw interest from markets
you will never reach with conventional tanning units. Plus,
with the uniqueness of these units, you draw from a much further
area. Unlike having High Pressure or other beds. (assuming
you have competition with like beds) E-mail me. I would gladly
tell you how it is working out.

We have
"Mist-On" tanning. The response so far has been overwhelming.
Mystic
Tan is by Palm Beach Tan. Of course they drew waves with
the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. Duh.
To my
understanding, you have to work some franchise BS with Palm
Beach Tan. (not a bad idea if you have half a million dollars
for a SMALL PBT salon, the average PBT salon is 20-35 beds)
It is
so funny to watch narrow minded idiots argue over something
the know nothing about. You want to see what it can do in
the line of revenue???? Shut up, come to Dallas, and watch.
I don't understand why half of you argue anyway, you obviously
don't have the money for one of these units ($54k) when
you sit here all day and nit pick prices on beds and lotion.
What does it matter what you think?
99%
of you will shoot down anything that you don't understand,
or that you can't afford. Just like the past few years when
most of you, slam High Pressure tanning, and tell your customers
stupid **** to turn them off to salons that can actually
afford it. That is the exact narrow mindedness that will
lead to your demise in this industry.

The
Inside Story: The good doctor invented both systems! He licensed
one of them to be manufactured and sold by another company
that made some changes and improvments. After some disagreements
and a court battle, I am led to believe that the Doc couldn't
care less if they were sold or leased; he gets paid royalties
and commissions either way! And, of course, he sells his own
outright. In all some smart moves there. It reminds me of
the only lawyer in a small town. He was going broke until
another attorney arrived on the scene! Same here.

the
point I would say is what does it do? Well, what I am trying
to get across is in the short time THIS salon has been open,
with the "Matrix" on the way (ISO Italia) five VHR, and 12
32-Lamp entry level beds, we have had just as much inquiring
and memberships sold to the "Mist-On" System. Sold to people
who would not have otherwise came into this salon. Now, the
potential now is there to convert them to regular "tanners"
too, or continue to increase revenue from an entirely new
market! What do I do? I sell tans, just like the rest of you.
I think my ways are far more innovative, because they are
based on fact. They are based on what I know works after 10+
years in this business. I am open to new Ideas, and I relate
them to what has worked for me personally in the past. I take
the input from customers and those more experienced than me
very seriously. That is 90% of how and why I develope and
institute my personal methods for running a tanning salon.
I am not affraid to do whatever it takes to make a salon successful.
So you want input, I am telling you that the "Mist-On" system
works, it inspires interest in your product, it brings people
to your salon. I don't think that hurts any of us.

THE
MIST-ON TAN SYSTEM COST YOU THE SALON OWNER $3 PER SESSION.
YOU GET ABOUT 18-22 TANS PER CANISTER. THE CANISTERS COST
YOU $75. THE TIME IT TAKES A CUSTOMER TO SPRAY AND BUFF OFF
IS 10 MINUTES AT THE MOST AND THAT IS IF THEY ARE SLOW. SO
YOU CAN DO ABOUT 6 PER HOUR AT THE LEAST. AT MY SALON I CHARGE
$15 FOR THE FIRST SESSION AND THEN THEY CAN BUY PACKAGES MAKING
THE TANS AOBUT $12 NO LESS. I ALSO CHARGE $25 IF THEY DON'T
BUY A PACKAGE AFTER THE FIRST TAN. I TAN ABOUT 15- 20 PEOPLE
A DAY RIGHT NOW BUT I AM IN THE SLOW TIME OF THE YEAR. DURING
THE BUSY TIME WATCH OUT. I HAVE BEEN SEEING LADIES THAT HAVE
NEVER BEEN IN A TANNING SALON BEFOR AND WOULD NOT NOW IF I
DID NOT HAVE THE MIST-ON TAN BOOTH. NOW THEY BUY MY CANDLES
AND OTHER PRODUCTS. THE BOOTH IS EXPENSIVE BUT AREN'T THE
BEST THINGS IN LIFE: MERCEDES, ROLEX,AND THEY DO NOT GENERATE
YOU ANY PROFIT LIKE THE MIST-ON TAN BOOTH. MIST-ON TAN A SOULTION
FOR EVERYONE T.M.

Ok
everyone, today I decided to try the Mist On Tan experience
here in Dallas. I called around and decided on a location
about 15 minutes from me. They took me into the room with
the unit and gave me a little spill about what to do, how
to stand and what to expect (not real good at that). Here
is how it went: After stripping down to my boxers I applied
the blocking lotion to my palms and the bottoms of my feet.
I steped into the unit and pressed the button! The arm with
the sprayers passed by 4 times, with each time me turning
to get different angles for the body. It took about 30 seconds
and I was done! I wiped off the lotion and gently patted my
body with a towel. I went and looked into the mirror and saw
this: WOW!!! I could tell a difference right away! It has
now been almost 5 hours with it on and it keeps looking better
and better. I look totally different! I don't want to wash
the color guide off! It looks like I just got back from Hawaii.
I could for sure see myself using this Mist On unit at least
once a week and applying another ST in between the uses. The
tans do run $20 but if I buy 5 they go down to $15. The salon
worker tried really hard to sell me a membership to use the
regular tanning beds which I thought was quite amusing. Why
would I be using the Mist On if I was going to use the beds???
Anything to make that sale, of course. They even wanted me
to pay $20 a month to get the $15 price, yea-right, I will
get them to drop that unless they want me to head down the
street to U-Tan and get my Mist On there. I will see how long
the tan lasts and what it looks like in the morning but as
of right now I rate Mist On tanning A+! I will be using this
before my Hawaii trip for sure!

Yep,
with all the good things I've been hearing and the updated
site for mist-on.com I think I'm going to give it a try.
Couple of questions: will this work just as well for guys?
Will we have to shave a little bit (arms, legs, etc.) as
we continue to use the unit?? Anyone have some good stories
about their experience with the mist-on units??? Thanks
again.......... -Nate
It works
fine for men. You will have more of the mist bead up on
your body hair, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems
as far as the "tan" goes. Good luck! Be sure to tell us
how it goes when you try it. If I lived in Dallas I don't
think I'd ever put a tan on by hand again. :-)
